Okay so I read the book of Ruth last week and wow I received so much from it. I wanted to share it with you that I am tagging in the note. When you can, give your feedback, thoughts, revelations whatever the Lord gives you. I really want to hear what you have to say ok?
From the very beginning the Lord was bringing some things to my mind that I hadn't further examined in the past....So we know there was a famine in Naomi's native land so they left and went to the land of Moab which we know is the nation born from the incestuous conception of Moab between Lot and his oldest daughter. That right there didn't make sense to me, but God had a plan in it all to show his grace and mercy. Eventhough Ruth was born of a nation that was considered to be an enemy of God he redeemed her because she had a heart after the things of God. God cares about one's heart not their past, who their family was/is, where they came from etc. Naomi was a woman of God who even in her time of mourning desired to bless her daughters in love so that they could have a "good" life back in Moab. She was able to look beyond her pain to try and meet the needs of her daughters in love.
Ruth-
in Ruth 1:14 it says that Ruth CLUNG to Naomi...cross reference scripture is Proverbs 17:17, which then took me to Proverbs 18:24..my conclusion was that Ruth loved Naomi unconditional..her atttitude and behavior in this situation set her up for an amazing blessing beyond what her eyes could see.
I say that Ruth was a "ride or die chick" because she could not be persuaded to leave Naomi. in verses 16-17 of chapter 1 she lets Naomi know just how down she is for her and that she would not turn back. I imagine that Ruth had been blessed, nutured, and loved by Naomi and Ruth recognized where her blessings resided and it was not in Moab. This is how fervent we should be in our pursuit for God. We should be unrelentless and so convinced that even if someone we really love and respect tries to tell us to let go of the promise that we refuse and know that we can not be deterred. Faithfulness, loyalty, and consistency are characteristics Ruth possessed. I want to be like her!
